Effects of Cloud Computing on E-Commerce

Effects of Cloud Computing on E-Commerce
Technology evolves every second. A concept or technical advancements made one moment becomes obsolete the very next. These days, however, there has been a surge in the usage of Cloud Computing and it is revolutionizing the usual practices of storage, and quite probably would continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Cloud computing affects how we access data, and how we view and use applications which culminates in a cutting-edge nature of implementing business processes.  In this day and age of smartphones, tablets and top of the range personal computers, it is quite easy to predict that the number of applications and processes that depend largely on cloud computing would increase thousand or million fold over the next decade or so.
E-commerce has also come under the ambit of Cloud Computing, largely in technical structure and avenues of service, and by doing so has seen continual yet staggering improvements in areas related to storage, access and business processes.
E-commerce primarily is a barter system over the Internet. Thus, a strong technical platform, a safe gateway, and a robust back-end are extremely necessary for e-commerce businesses to be sound and successful. Cloud computing eradicates the businesses’ need of purchasing paraphernalia by providing them with the option to lease the software and hardware. The aforementioned model is cost effective. Companies pay only for the resources depending on their requirements and usage. Thus, companies begin with only the most basic equipment and subsequently upgrade the resources as and when their target audience or customer base grows. This eliminates the risk of an exorbitant investment right at the beginning, and also reduces the inventory costs.
Multiple backup facilities, and thus, quicker recovery of data is ensured when cloud computing is utilized. This results in safeguarding transaction data which is extremely critical for e-commerce businesses. The business can thrive even in cases of sudden natural disasters, since no damage was incurred in case of the data and information.
Building robust networks for buyers to safely share their Account info is one essential requirement for e-commerce businesses. This ensures safe payment gateways. Cloud computing can provide highly technologically advanced data-centers, that are wholly protected from alien interference.

Improved quality control and better core competencies with Cloud computing at the helm, are now becoming pre-requisites for successful running of companies. Enablement of various service oriented processes has spurred e-commerce companies to aim for the sky, quite literally. They owe a substantial portion of this success to Cloud computing.
